the only japanese food
the only japanese food products i find myself buying from natural food stores are low sodium wheat-free organic tamari and eden brand umeboshi, because none of the asian markets i’ve found in chicago (the city, not the suburbs) carry umeboshi without MSG and food coloring in it. er, well, i did find some low sodium umeboshi once, but it was really gross. also, seaweed is super expensive at healthfood stores—usually about three times the price of seaweed from an asian market.
